Date night last night with my husband took us to a local showing of a documentary film, “People vs. The State of Illusion” which at the end included a Q&A with the film producer, Austin Vickers. Attending live documentary film presentations with the writers and producers present is something we are passionate about and we’ve seen many. This is especially true, since we are members of the Sedona International Film Festival. However, this film took our hearts quickly, and we would rank it in the top five. Run! Don’t walk to the showing of this film nearest you. Or better yet, buy it on DVD for $29.95 at the website, www.thestateofillusion.com. It will be one of the best gifts you can give yourself mentally and spiritually this year, and you will want to watch it more than once. It is loaded with metaphors and the story line can apply to anything that you “think” is holding you back, which as you might have guessed is an illusion. Austin Vickers has creatively captured the essence in a compelling, edge-of-seat dramatization sprinkled with numerous life metaphors that applies to ANY belief that does not serve us and could possibly show you some your didn’t know existed. Of course, it will all depend on whether you choose to look at them. The film also includes appearances by Dr. Thomas Moore, Dr. Candace Pert, Debbie Ford, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Robert Jahn, Dr. Peter Senge, Brenda Dunne, and Dr. Michael Vandermark.
